Diversity & Inclusion Discussion Series - Session 2

What is the Diversity and Inclusion Discussion Series: Nine, 90 minute sessions (delivered virtually). Every session is optional - sign up for one or all, we're just happy to see you!

The Goal: To advance awareness and discussion around Diversity and Inclusion in Sport among club leaders who are well-positioned to implement positive change.

Who's running the series: KidSport Calgary and KidSport Edmonton in partnership with INclusion Incorporated and supported by Sport Calgary and Edmonton Sport Council, is offering a Diversity and Inclusion in Sport series, to Local Sport Organizations across Alberta.

Why we are doing this: We all believe in education, and we believe it's our responsibility to ensure that the clubs our kids play at have an understanding of the diverse backgrounds and experiences of where kids come from. Through the series, our hope is to help clubs become better equipped to offer positive, inclusive and safe access to sport.

Join us to learn more about the proactive behaviors, options, and actions we can all make so that people from all backgrounds, ages, and abilities feel welcome, respected, and that they belong at your club. We will be hosting monthly virtual sessions and will be recording each session for those who are unable to attend live.

Click on Tickets or scroll down to register but before you go, please note the sessions are FREE thanks to our partners at the Calgary Flames Foundation.  However we also have a Better than FREE option where you can donate as little as $5 to help those working in this space so we can continue to grow the conversation and positive impact we can all have. We highly suggest the Better than FREE option and look forward to sharing the impact of your support throughout each session.

Session 2 -Gender Identities in Sport
Gender identities is an area that has evolved rapidly over the past few years. Sports need to be thinking about how they can support all gender identities and create inclusive policies and supportive environments for each gender identity.
